Add multiple tags to mautic via webhook
Status: Closed · Asked by Jorge D. on · 0 views
Hi there,
I'm currently creating and updating contacts in Mautic using a webhook, and everything works fine. However, I now need to add more than one tag to a contact. I've tried separating the tags with a comma, but when the contact is created in Mautic, the tags appear as a single tag containing "tag1,tag2" instead of being separated.
How can I achieve this?
Thanks ind advance!
Hey @DnLx,
Thank you for sharing the details.
Could you please try adding or updating a contact by mapping only the tags in a separated format? In the screenshot you shared, the mapping appears to include a colon, which might be causing the issue.
We recommend adding only a few tag names separated by a comma and then trying to add/update the contact again.
After testing, please share:
- A screenshot of the action configuration, and
- A screenshot of the resultant contact in Mautic showing the tags applied.
If it works correctly, the issue may be caused by the colon used in the mapping. If the issue still persists, the screenshots will help us investigate further.
Hello and thank you for your response.
I have tried following your instructions and sending only two tags separated by commas, but in Mautic, the tag is added as if it were a single tag instead of adding two tags. Please review the following video I have recorded.

The Mautic: Create or Update Contact action step does not appear to support comma-separated multiple tags in the same execution. We have added a Text Formatter and an Iterator to your workflow, which should allow you to add multiple tags to your Mautic contact.
Please run your automation once by making a submission (not by clicking "Save & Send Test Request") and check if the tags are added to your Mautic contact.
