Automation: Post automatic fb messages with trigger new FB comments
Status: Open · Asked by and1gmail on · 0 views
Trying to set up my automation as the title says and confused.
I have one automation running: Trigger=New Comment, Then create ChatGPT response, then post CHatGPT response as comment reply. That automation works flawlessly.
Then I cloned that automation and set it to be: Trigger=New Comment, then create different ChatGPT response, then sendChatGPT output as private FB message to Recipient ID mapped from the trigger event. - doesn't work, tasks don't run.
Why does the 2nd automation not work? Have to be missing something. There shouldn't;t be any problem with having different automations with the same trigger event, no?
Any help would be appreciated.
Loving Pabbly so far. Switching from Zapier.
Can't share task history id because tasks are not run
Hi @and1gmail,
You can use the same trigger step in multiple workflows, but you would have to set up the trigger step again if you clone the workflow.
It seems like you are trying to send a personal message to the person who comments on your Facebook page. I’m afraid this particular use case is currently not possible.

Thank you for the reply. Why is this use-case not possible? I talked to Zapier - They don’t support it right now but say they are actively working on implementing it.
Manychat allows the same use-case.
Is Pabbly working on it and is this high on the feature priority list?
I need that functionality. - And pretty sure msny people will appreciate it. In my case whoever gets there first, Zapier or Pabbly will get my money since I don’t want to use another third party service (Manychat) on top of either great automation service if possible.
Kindly let me know. Thanks.
As mentioned in the thread shared above, Facebook Messenger requires you to enter the sender/recipient ID in the Recipient field. We don't receive this Sender ID in the 'Facebook Pages: New Comment' trigger step, and because of this, your use case is currently not possible.
If you would like this feature to be added to Pabbly Connect, you can submit a request on our dedicated platform: https://pabbly.featureos.app/b/Integration-Request.
Our integrations team will review your request and, if possible, add the desired feature to Pabbly Connect.

I just came across this:
https://forum.pabbly.com/threads/facebook-pages-action-event-send-a-private-reply.22159/
It looks like what I am trying to achieve is already possible with Pabbly - just not with the Messenger app but all with the Pages App.
Could you briefly comment on this?
So any new comment received on FB page posts (including ads) -> either ChatGPT response or FB template response generated -> send private message with content specified to person commenting works just not with the Messenger app selected in the last step but with the Pages app selected, is that correct?
Kindly clarify. Thank you.
Hello @and1gmail
It seems that the "Send A Private Reply" action can fulfill your needs. Please refer to this tutorial demonstrating a similar use case -
