Gorsky — Question ·

How to extract comments from facebook group to google spreadsheet?

Arshil Ahmad — Reply ·

Hi @Gorsky,

Please follow the steps given in the video shared below to setup Facebook Group as your trigger application and fetch comments. Choose 'New Comment' as your trigger event instead of 'New Post'.

Follow the steps given in the video shared below to set up Google Sheets as your action application to save the fetched comments. Skip to 3:58; only the second half is relevant to your use case.

Hi @@ArshilAhmad,

Thanks for replying.

As you can see it only triggered when I clicked Save & Send Test Request.

This workflow didn't auto check new comments in every 10 mins.

Hi. I don't see the Facebook Groups' app on Pabbly. Could someone please assist me with that.

As of April 22, 2024, Meta has deprecated the Facebook Group API from their end. This change affects all triggers and actions related to Facebook Groups in your Pabbly Connect automation workflows.

Here are the key points to keep in mind:

  • Deprecation Details: The Facebook Groups API, including all related permissions and reviewable features, has been deprecated in v19 and will be removed from all versions, Learn more.
  • Workflow Impact: All automation workflows using Facebook Groups in Pabbly Connect will no longer work. This includes both existing workflows and the creation of new ones.

Thank you for the update, Arshil. Do you happen to know if there’s a workaround, enhancement request, or any roadmap consideration for this functionality? Facebook Group integrations are essential to several of our workflows — and I’m sure many others rely on them too. Would appreciate any guidance or alternatives you can share!

Hello @kkharbanda,

Unfortunately, there isn’t any workaround available for this, as the API has been deprecated from Meta’s end. Since it's a platform-level change, we're currently unable to support Facebook Group integrations.

I understand; thank you very much, Preeti.
