Multiple workflows: Grist to Mailchimp and Mailchimp to Grist

Hi there,

We have two workflows. One from Grist to Mailchimp and another from Mailchimp to Grist. The Grist to Mailchimp is triggered when a new Grist record is added with a first name, last name, email and the word "subscribe. " It works; however, the Mailchimp to Grist also gets triggered when Grist adds the record to Mailchimp. This one should only be triggered when the user gets add to Mailchimp by a form on the website. The consequence is a duplicate record a 4 tasks being used. Has anyone any suggestions for how to resolve this? Thank you.

Hi and thank you for your help.

I hope I am explaining it correctly because Grist-MC doesn't actually trigger MC-Grist.

Grist has a trigger column that reads "true" if the person's first name, last name, email and the word "subscribe" appears for a record Grist. This triggers the Grist-MC workflow, which correctly creates a new subscriber in Mailchimp. After that, this new subscriber just created by Grist is now sent back to Grist by the MC-Grist workflow, duplicating the entry. There is a filter to find the user and merge it but it isn't working. Also, it is using up 4 tasks. It happens within seconds. Should I copy and paste the history, and if so, which part? Here is a screen capture showing the issue.

Thank you for this. Very nice of you. I am waiting for them to add a new record/client in Grist to see if this change has corrected the problem. Back in touch when they have one to let you know if it is resolved.

All the best,
Andrea
