RSS Feed incomplete and malformed
Status: Open · Asked by mindfulguy on · 0 views
Hi,
I have am testing the Pabbly RSS action and have it setup to monitor my podcast RSS feed here:
https://feed.cdnstream1.com/zjb/feed/download/46/a4/9d/46a49d3a-6a32-4ee4-b978-2709599e3161.xml
It is finding recent episodes but the data is incomplete and malformed.
For example, even though the is clearly a "Description" element in the feed, and a pabbly reports a field by that name, the content in pabbly is empty.
There is also a "Content" field listed in Pabbbly. but there is no such field on the RSS feed.
In addition, there is a "Content Snippet" field show as being received by pabbly, but there is no such field in the feed, plus the data in the field is odd.
Attached is the RSS feed and what Pabbly is reporting is from it, side by side.
I tried the unchecking the "simple response" toggle, and gat the same result.
Please advise.
Thanks
brett
Hello @mindfulguy,
Thank you for reaching out.
Please try enlarging the specific field where the data is getting captured. Refer to the attached image for a better understanding.

Thanks, that's helpful, but strange why there is so much empty space before the decription
But where are the other fields? For example:
or
Cleanup on Aisle Three: the Craft of Being Lessing Reactive
Seems like there ought to be a 1:1 correspondence of fields to content.
Hello @mindfulguy,
We have escalated this concern to our technical team for further review. Please allow us some time, and we will get back to you with the updates as we have some.
Hello @mindfulguy,
Our team has made some changes related to the RSS feed, and now the custom fields, 'podcast: episode' & 'podcast: transcript' will appear in the captured response from RSS for the items that have these custom fields in them.
