Sender Email Approval Status "Blocked" Despite All DNS Records (CNAME & DMARC) Verified

Status: Open · Asked by Ajay Ghosh on · 0 views

Ajay Ghosh — Question ·

I am reaching out regarding an issue with our sender email approval status and account sending state.

All DNS authentication checks (CNAME1, CNAME2, and DMARC) are green and fully verified for our domains. However, the Approval Status remains marked as Blocked, and the Sending Reputation status shows as Paused.

Could you please review these sender email addresses and let us know why they are marked as blocked, or assist in unblocking them so we can resume sending? Screenshots of both domain dashboards have been attached for reference.

Thank you for your assistance!

Hello Ajay,

Thank you for reaching out and for sharing the screenshots.

Upon reviewing the logs, we found that your account has been blocked due to a spam trap hit detected in one of your recent campaigns.

Details:

  • Trap Email: [email protected]

  • Campaign: Health and Wellness Weekly Newsletter | July 20, 2026

  • Trap Hits: 2

As a result, the sending service was automatically blocked to protect the reputation of the delivery infrastructure.

This indicates that there appears to be a spam trap email present in your subscriber list. We recommend reviewing and cleaning your mailing list to ensure that emails are sent only to subscribers who have genuinely opted in to receive your communications. Removing inactive, purchased, scraped, or unverified contacts can help prevent similar issues in the future.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Is there anybody available to assist with this urgently? SLA for this kind of request for a paid subscription model isn't something I'm happy with. I was even thinking about switch to the yearly or 3 year subscription, but if the customer support lead time is like this, I may have to switch to a different service provider who offers the same capabilities. Please understand the urgency.

Looks like Global Net News business is back to Approved now, but Health and Wellness business is still showing as Blocked.

Hello Ajay,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We would like to inform you that our team has successfully unblocked the delivery server for your Global Net News business.

However, for your Health and Wellness business, it appears that the account has once again hit a spam trap, due to which the delivery server has been blocked.

To avoid such issues, we strongly recommend sending emails only to subscribers who have explicitly opted in to receive your communications. Please review your subscriber list carefully and remove any contacts that:

  • Were purchased from third-party sources.

  • Have not explicitly subscribed to your services or newsletters.

  • Are inactive or have questionable consent.

Continuing to send emails to such recipients can result in spam trap hits, which may lead to your delivery server being blocked again.

Please note that while we may be able to assist in certain cases, if this becomes a repetitive issue, we cannot guarantee that the delivery server will be unblocked every time.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining good sending practices. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please let us know.

With Global Net News, my sending limits got reset back to 1000 now. Is there a way to increase it? Also with Health and Wellness, this is the email [email hidden] that was initially reported me as spam trap. And this is not in the list any more. Could you please review again?

Ajay Ghosh — Reply ·

Also, we ran the bulk email verification process already and this email mentioned [email hidden] already passed the test. So, what is the better way to identify the spam trap? See attached the verification result.

Hello Ajay,

Thank you for reaching out, and I completely understand your concern regarding the email verification results and sending limits. Let me address both points clearly for you:

1. Spam Traps vs. Email Verification Tools

It is very common for standard bulk email verifiers to mark a spam trap as "PASSED" or "VALID" (as seen in your screenshot for [email protected]).

Here is why:

  • Standard verification tools test whether an email server exists, has valid MX records, and can accept incoming mail via an SMTP ping.

  • Spam traps are active, real mailboxes managed by ISPs and security organizations (like Spamhaus). Because they are valid addresses designed to accept mail, they return a successful "250 OK" response during verification checks.

  • Because spam traps never explicitly opt in to receive marketing communications, hitting them signals to email providers that a list contains purchased, scraped, or uncleaned legacy contacts.

To protect domain reputation and prevent spam traps, we strongly recommend implementing Double Opt-In (DOI) forms and regularly removing inactive contacts who have not opened or clicked an email in 60–90 days.

2. Global Net News Sending Limits

Under our Sending Reputation Tier system, when a delivery server is unblocked or newly activated, it starts at Tier 1 (10% of your total plan size)—which translates to 1,000 emails/day for a 10k plan—to protect your sending IP reputation.

How your limit increases:

  • You do not need to make manual requests to raise it. The system automatically evaluates your sending health every few hours after campaign execution.

  • As long as you send to unique recipients with healthy metrics (Hard Bounces < 0.5%, Soft Bounces < 2%, and Spam Complaints < 0.1%), your account will automatically scale up through Tier 2 (25%), Tier 3 (50%), and Tier 4 (100% of plan capacity).

3. Subscriber Cleanup Required for Health and Wellness

Before we can proceed with unblocking your delivery server, we strongly recommend reviewing your active subscriber list and removing any subscribers who have not opened or clicked an email in the last 60–90 days. Removing unengaged subscribers is critical to avoiding secondary spam trap hits when the server is unblocked.

Once you have completed this cleanup, please reply back to let us know, and we will proceed with re-enabling your sending server.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
