Hi Pabbly Support,

I'm setting up the MCP Server feature to connect my workflows to Claude, and I have a few questions about which steps can be exposed as MCP tools.

  1. Trigger steps: I can't find the "Add to MCP server" option on my workflow's Trigger step (Facebook Lead Ads – New Lead Instant). Is exposing triggers via MCP supported at all, or are only Action steps eligible for MCP tools (not Triggers or Routers)?
  2. Full step list: Is there a way to see, at a glance, which step types support "Add to MCP server" before I go through each one manually? A general list (e.g. Webhook/API actions = yes, Filter = ?, Formatter = ?, Router = no, Trigger = no) would really help me plan which steps to expose.
  3. Multiple actions per workflow: If I have several actions within the same workflow (e.g. one sending data to Leadbyte, another sending data to my internal dashboard), can I expose all of them as separate MCP tools under the same workflow, or is there a limit?

Thank you for reaching out and for your detailed questions regarding the MCP Server feature in Pabbly Connect.

Here’s some clarity on your points:

  • Trigger steps: At present, MCP exposure is supported only for Action steps. Triggers (such as Facebook Lead Ads – New Lead Instant) and Routers cannot be exposed as MCP tools.

  • Step eligibility list: The general rule is that Action steps (Webhook/API, Leadbyte, Dashboard integrations, etc.) can be exposed. Non-action steps like Filters, Delay, Routers, Iterator, and Triggers are not eligible. We don’t yet have a consolidated list in the UI, but the “Add to MCP server” option will only appear on supported Action steps. Baiscally the modules where data is not processed do not add to the MCP server.

  • Multiple actions per workflow: Yes, you can expose multiple Action steps from the same workflow as separate MCP tools. Each eligible Action step can be added individually, and there is no limit on the number of tools you can expose from a single workflow.
